From the village centre, our door is just a few minutes away on foot.
Your destination is Calle Chorruelo 5. The easiest way is via Avenida Carlos Cano 42; from there it is a short five-minute walk to us.

Casa AMARA is at Calle Chorruelo 5, opposite San Antonio church — right in the quiet, historic heart of Frigiliana. So you stay inside the old village, and our house is still easy to reach: it sits comparatively low on the hillside. At Avenida Carlos Cano 42 you will almost always find a parking space. From there it is a short five-minute walk to our shared front door — a climb over the village cobbles with about 30 steps along the way. With normal hand luggage it is an easy, relaxed stroll.

Arriving by rental car
Drive to Avenida Carlos Cano 42, park there and walk the short final section. The old-town lanes are usually closed to visitor traffic during the day, roughly between 11:00 and 17:00.
Even outside those times, we only recommend driving to the front door when it is genuinely necessary. The lanes are very narrow and delivery vans serving restaurants, shops and residents can block them completely. Walking is normally quicker and far more relaxed than manoeuvring a rental car through the old village.
At Avenida Carlos Cano 42 you will almost always find a space straight away. On the rare occasion there is none, it is no reason to stress: you can stop briefly with the hazard lights on, unload the luggage and passengers — and the driver then looks in peace for a regular space or parks in the underground car park.
Arriving by taxi: If your taxi comes from Málaga or the driver does not know Frigiliana well, use Avenida Carlos Cano 42 as the destination. Local drivers from Nerja or Frigiliana know the lanes and current conditions and can decide for themselves whether it makes sense to take you closer to the house.

Follow the main road to La Fuente, then use the same short final route described above. This option is a little longer but easy to follow.

The route is short and easy to follow. It runs uphill over the same cobbles you find throughout historic Frigiliana and includes about 30 steps. Our map, step-by-step directions and the large photo of the front door make the last part straightforward.
Arriving with luggage
The five-minute walk is easy to manage with normal hand luggage or a suitcase you can handle comfortably. Very large or heavy cases are simply less convenient to pull uphill over cobbles and steps.
At the green front door: your check-in
When you stand at our green door on Calle Chorruelo 5, there is no one to wait for. There is no classic reception and no fixed check-in times: you open the house door and the apartment door simply with a code. We send you the exact access details in good time before you arrive. That leaves you completely flexible — even if your flight lands late and you reach the village at night. The lanes, the steps and our front door are well lit.

Arrival questions
Can I drive directly to the Casa AMARA front door?
Outside the usual daytime closure this may be possible, but we do not recommend it with a rental car. The lanes are very narrow, and the short walk from Avenida Carlos Cano 42 is normally easier.
Is the walk manageable with luggage?
Yes. With normal hand luggage or a manageable suitcase, the short uphill walk is easy to do. Cobbles and steps make very heavy cases less convenient.
Where should a taxi drop us?
For a taxi from Málaga or a driver who does not know Frigiliana well, use Avenida Carlos Cano 42. Local drivers can decide whether taking you closer to the house makes sense.
